Description: Edwardian-era with English hallmarks (see below), this is a vanity brush with tortoiseshell and sterling silver edged handles. The body of the handle features a beautiful hallmark silver detail embossed in the tortoiseshell.

Hallmark indicates it is most likely made by Deakin & Co around 1902 in Birmingham, England. The lion passant indicates that it is sterling silver. The anchor stamp confirms this piece was assayed in Birmingham.

Condition: consistent with age, intact functional bristles, there is some fading of shell and some wear and scuffs to the silver edges. Please consider the photos as part of the condition. The "C" confirms the date/letter and that it was made in 1902.
