Mid-century petite vase by Jean Gerbino, made in Vallauris, France and executed in his signature mosaic technique with finely assembled mixed clay segments (terre mêlée) creates a vibrant marquetry-like effect within the body of the piece itself. The rounded form features geometric motifs and a multi-opening top designed for arranging small flowers. Marked on the bottom, although please note, the stamp on this particular piece is very faint. This piece reflects the enduring appeal of Vallauris ceramic art and is a wonderful addition for collectors of mid-century and French art pottery.
